If You Were Nominated

The Tressie Souders Award (“Tressies”) are hosted by the International Black Women’s Film Festival, and it recognizes and honors Black women in film, television and media.
What Does This Mean for You?
It means that you have an opportunity to be recognized by the general public and your peers as using your craft to combat negative stereotyping of Black women in film, media and television. Initial nominees were screened by the International Black Women’s Film Festival, and deemed an excellent example of the festival’s vision and mission.
Industry insiders and the general public can vote on their favorite actresses, celebrities, and publications at the Tressie Souders Awards. Nominations end March 31, 2009. The best stars will be picked as finalists! Voting is open to everyone.
