You’re kidding me, right? Heck yeah! We always need sponsors! Big or small. Find out how you can sponsor this event. (*Sponsorships are not tax-deductible because you’re receiving visibility –i.e., advertising– in exchange for your payment to us.)
Yes. Fees are calculated by PayPal according to the current exchange rate. If your currency is more than the United States Dollar, then you’re getting a discount. If it’s not, then it will cost you more. If your exchange rate is so below the USD that it will severely impact you, then you may contact the director at director [at] ibwff [dot] com and ask for a “scholarship,” that is, your fee may be waived after review.
No. Previously accepted and screened filmmakers are not charged an entry fee. The only fee a previous filmmaker will incur is the LATE fee…so hurry up.
Read the Deadlines & Fees section.
I actually did some calculating. I created a FLAT FEE because “fee levels” were confusing and there were way too many “types” of fee levels. So I averaged the fee of feature length and short films. The only adjustments anyone (filmmakers and film organizers) have to worry about are deadlines.
In comparison with any film festival that charges, we’re really on the (extremely) low scale. ($10 bucks sounds a lot better than $45, doesn’t it?)
Heck no. Anyone can submit a film as long as they follow the requirements.
Per the Filmmakers‘ section: “I struggled (and struggled) with this decision, but it costs (a lot) of money to produce a quality film festival, and the International Black Women’s Film Festival doesn’t get the level of monetary support/sponsorship that other festivals get …and it’s not for the lack of trying.”
Unless some Sugar Daddy (or Sugar Mama) decides to sponsor the entire festival, I’m going to have to charge a nominal fee –compared to other film festivals. Sorry. Hard times.
Read the Deadlines & Fees section.
The festival is scheduled for Friday, July 20th and Saturday, July 21st, 2012. There may be other events thrown in there before then. In any case, we’ll let you know.
